Faith has a wonderfully rich and handsome boyfriend, who she is engaged to marry, soon.  Her future mother-in-law in trying to do all the wedding plans, totally unlike the way Faith wants it to be, especially the dress.

Faith knows exactly the way she would like her wedding and goes to her mother’s church to talk to the minister about holding a small ceremony there.  She doesn’t expect to find  someone who will make her feel safe.  She has secrets that many people don’t know.

Will she stay engaged?  Will her secrets stay hidden?

My Thoughts-

This was a delightful book.  I couldn’t put it down.  I just had to read it until the end.  The characters, Faith, Marilyn, and the others became like sisters to me as I read their story.  I could feel Faith’s pain over her engagement and the trouble with her brother.  I could feel the support from Marilyn and the rest of the women from her mother’s church.  Moran made me feel hope for the future.   That no matter the struggles in our lives, there is always hope.  We can look forward to the next day.  Support of friends is also very important.  We can more easily have hope if we have the support of wonderful friends.

I also liked the reading guide questions at the back of the book.  They made me think.

If you liked Making Marion and I Hope You Dance, you’ll like this one too.  You don’t need the other books to read this one!

My Thoughts-

This was a delightful book.  I enjoyed every minute of it.  I hope Beth Moran writes another one soon.

Ruth is like many of us.  The trials of life have caught up with her with the death of her partner.  She moves home with her daughter, but she is determined to make it work.  She does succeed with hard work and help from her family and friends.  We all need to remember to do the same.  It would be a good resolution for this year.

I liked Ruth's girls group.  My favorite people in the group were Ana Louisa and Lois.  Ana Louisa had so much personality and Lois was a steady friend.  They were friends that I would like to have.

If you liked Making Marion you will like this one too.  Even if you haven't read it, make sure you read this one.

Making Marion, by Beth Moran, takes place in Sherwood Forest.  Marion Miller moved there to solve her father’s mysterious past and to get away from the life she was living.  She ends up at the Peace and Pigs campsite.  She becomes a receptionist for them and is involved in their lives.  She is very shy, but over time she becomes not so shy. 

There are many things happening for her, but the main one is finding out her father’s secret and finding someone she likes.  Will it all work out for her.

My thoughts-

Making Marion, by Beth Moran, was a very interesting book.  As I read the book I became involved with the characters and their lives.  I did not want to put the book down.

Marion, Rueben, Scarlett, and the others made their way into my heart.  I laughed and cried with them as they went through their daily trials.  I was very proud of Marion as she overcame her shyness.  I too am shy, so I knew exactly how she felt as she dealt with her coworkers and the customers at the Peace and Pigs campsite.  She was able to become a great person thanks to Scarlett (the woman in charge of the campsite).  Scarlett was very steady and helped her overcome her shyness.  She also taught Marion about others and who to trust and what to do.

I highly recommend this book.  It is the perfect book for a rainy day or very hot afternoon.
