Do you have any members of your family who enjoy building with blocks and learning the different stories of the Bible?

The Faith Builder’s Bible will enable your children to build, read, and memorize verses from different stories in the Bible.  There are more than 18 pages with different building opportunities.  Each page includes information about the Bible story, where to go for more information, the picture to build with blocks/Legos, and a memory verse.

It also includes a complete explanation of what the New International Reader’s Version contains and how it is different than the New International Version.

Our Experience: 

God’s word is an important part of our family’s daily life.  My children and I were excited to learn about the Faith Builder’s Bible, because it involved building the stories of the Bible with bricks.

B loves building with Legos, so I knew he would enjoy looking at the photo, reading the story, building item, and memorizing the verses.

I was hoping that C would enjoy doing the same.  She enjoys building with Legos, but not as much as B.  I thought this version would be good for her to read, because it is geared towards those who are beginning readers.

We used this version in our daily Bible study.  I had C read the verses, so she could practice and I could learn how well this version worked for her.

I used the building pages as building challenges for B and C.  I would have them build the page, and I would read the story and we would talk about the memory verse.

I plan on continuing using this Bible for our Bible study.  I’m going to develop my own building challenges that the kids can build on their own.

Mama’s Thoughts:

• I thought this was an excellent Bible for children in the elementary grades.  It had simple words that were easy to read and understand.  I really appreciated all the effort that was put into making this version easy to understand, yet relevant.
• It’s important to learn what the Bible teaches, and if a child is kinesthetic this version would be perfect for them.  They can build, read, and memorize verses from the different Bible stories.
• I liked the list of 92 Bible stories in the back of the Bible.  I plan on turning these different Bible stories into more building challenges for B and C.  In our daily devotions they learn a lot of different individual verses, but it’s important to learn the complete stories. 
• I wish the dictionary had been longer, because children always like to learn more.  It would have helped me if Jesus’s words were in red, so I’m sure children would like that too.

B’s Thoughts (boy, age 12, officially in sixth grade):   

I really enjoyed the Faith Builders Bible.  I love playing and building with Legos, so this Bible was perfect for me.  My mother picked building pages and had my sister, C, build them. 

I liked that the scripture in the New International Reader’s version was easy to understand and enjoy. 

It would have been nice to have an introduction page for each book describing who wrote it.  It would have been helpful if this Bible was a red letter edition, as I sometimes have trouble finding out when Jesus is speaking.

I would highly recommend this Bible to people of all ages.

 

C’s Thoughts (girl, age 10, officially in fourth grade):

• I really liked how Mama made building challenges from the building pages.
• I like the fact that it is easier for young children and me to understand and read.
• From the building pages, I built sheep.  I tried to build a fish, but it didn’t work.
• I think this Bible would be good for children who are reading easy chapter books and like to build with Legos and blocks.

Dad’s Thoughts:

I liked the New International Reader's Version Faith Builders Bible. I think this is a good way to interest younger readers in the bible. With biblical scenes created out of Legos it helps to illustrate important messages. The Faith Builders Bible is an asset in introducing young readers to history and important lessons.

My thoughts-

When I read ReCreatable, by Kevin Scott, I was drawn to his thoughts and ideas.  It was a part of my life that I had not thought of before.  I had not thought of how I was still broken and how God would use it and heal me. 

One of the most interesting parts to me, was early in the book when he discussed what is means to be human.  To be a human doesn’t mean dealing with broken relationships, it means to trust God and have a relationship with him.  As I thought, I found that I need to focus on God and not on the human relationships I have.

I thought the questions at the end of each chapter were thought provoking and helped me focus on what I need to do.  I have always wanted to know how to have a mature life in Christ.  This book has helped me to pursue it in a way that is honorable toward God and myself.

I highly recommend that everyone read and study ReCreatable, by Kevin Scott.

Considering God’s Creation is adaptable to many different grade levels and uses notebooking pages to explore natural science from a Biblical point of view.  There is little for the teacher or student to prepare for.  There are different lessons for the universe, Earth, weather, mammals, physiology and more.  Each lesson contains vocabulary words, introduction, song/poem, activity, Bible reading, notebook, evolution stumpers, review and digging deeper.  Here is a link to Sample pages of the notebook.  If you have more questions here is a link to Frequently Asked Questions.

Our Experience: I was really excited to receive this, because I had been wanting a science program that taught about Biblical creation.  I was very impressed when my package came in the mail.  I looked at the teacher’s manual and it included everything I would need to say to the children and since each lesson was divided into sections it made it easy adapt to their grade levels by leaving out the digging deeper section.  B and C were very interested in starting the program so we started right away doing lesson one.  Making the notebook pages were a lot of fun.  The kids enjoyed cutting, coloring, gluing and then reading what we have learned about in the lesson.  We have been working on one lesson per day and we are now getting ready to study about the weather.  We just finished learning about the solar system and the Earth.

 

What I Liked: 

• The kids ask at least three separate times every day to do Considering God’s Creation.
• The teacher’s manual is very complete.
• The integration of Bible verses with explanations.
• The notebook pages were very complete and the kids had fun showing their dad what they did.

What I Disliked:

• Absolutely Nothing!

What B (boy, age seven, officially in first grade) Liked and Disliked: I love Considering God’s Creation!!!!  My favorite so far has been making the notebook pages for “The Rock Cycle,” because I liked making three small booklets.  There is also a bigger booklet with a pop-up rainbow on another page.  I think considering Considering God’s Creation is great for kids my age.

What C (girl, age five, working on kindergarten) Liked and Disliked: I liked it.  It was fun, because we got to make a pop-up rainbow!!!!  I liked learning and singing the songs.  So far they have all been my favorites!  Considering God’s Creation is good for kids my age!

My Children

Have you ever had children that argue about setting the table or doing the dishes? I have a five-year-old boy and a three-year-old girl that argue over who gets to help me. I have to be honest, I love it. It is nice that they are working around the house to help me out. I have spent many years doing all the dishes and I am having a nice break. I can't wait until they are old enough to do the cooking. I know they will be good cooks. All of this help they are giving will us to be a closer family. I thank God that I have such wonderful children.

Bees like to do everything that you want them to do, but they mostly like to polinate flowers that is why God made so many flowers.

Little bear come outside and play today while the earth is spinning around very fast and so that just is the way that the earth is and it will be forever and even when we are in heaven but life will not change in heaven we will be running and walking very fast, but we will never ever change even if we are children or adult we will not be dead up in heaven the people will come alive when it is time to go to heaven but I don't know the dead people may stay on earth, but they will be able to come up to heaven so that is just what I want to say, because that is always my favorite thing to say on bloggers but you might get posted in a blog

but watch out because you may get pecked to bits by a quail or stomped on by a rabbit that is what Roxie said to Bruce I'll have the last bit of laughter said Roxie so be really careful Roxie the witch said, if she could make him little he could be a tadpole or nothing at all, but she like Bruce and she kept him that size.
