Picture of the Week! (January 30, 2016)- Snow Memories

We haven’t had a lot of snow this year, but what we have had has stuck around.  It’s all packed down and hard, not good for snow faces.

We’re supposed to have a four to twelve inch snow storm this coming week.  I think we’ll go to the park to make faces like this after it’s over.

Picture of the Week! (January 7, 2016)- Snow!

Snow!  We finally have it.  I’m ready for it to go away.

Today the forecast is for rain.  It might wash some of the snow away.  On Sunday and into early next week the temps will hover around 0.  Brrr.

I don’t know about all of you, but I am not looking forward to this.  I would like the temperatures to go back to the low 70’s with none of the no-see-ums.

We have not had a very warm summer here in our part of the world.  I thought I would share this picture of hail and slush from February for those of you who have had a warm summer.

Picture of the Week! (March 23, 2014)- A Little Bit of Snow

As we were in the park near our house, I saw a hole in the tree with just a little bit of snow.  Considering how much snow we have been getting I thought there would be more, but there wasn’t.  Perhaps that is a sign that warmer weather is coming!

We had a week where it was actually warm enough to spend time outside, so we went to the park.  Since the green areas of the park had not been played or walked in, the children were able to make snow people.  They had a lot of fun.

I am hoping that soon, pictures of snow will turn into pictures of flowers!  We had three inches of snow yesterday and tonight’s low is -14, but I know that later this week it will be in the upper 20’s.  I am really excited for that.  And spring, whenever it comes.

C’s Musings- About Snow and Summer

Snow, snow, come again some other time.
I said that, because we have a lot of snow.  We also have cold temperatures. 
Summer, summer, please come.
I want summer to come so we can play outside without our snow clothes.

Sickness and Snow

Today was supposed to be C's day to do her first post and yesterday was supposed to be B's first day to do his post, but due to C's illness we were unable to do it. I am hoping that next week we will be back on track with the blog and our school work. It is difficult to do our school curriculum when I have to keep one child distracted (so she doesn't get sick) and I have to make sure that B (who is officially in school) gets his work done.

Fortunately through The Homeschool Crew we have been able to review products that work very well when kids are sick and learning still occurs. Please see my reviews on SPEEKEE TV and Tiny Planets.

I am looking forward to the snow that we are getting. We are supposed to get between eight and twelve inches. As I look at the DOT map most of the state is full of roads that are either closed or travel is not advised. It will be fun in a couple days to go sledding at our park when the wind dies down and the temperatures warm up.
