Deb DeArmond shows how the best mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships should be in Related by Chance, Family by Choice.

DeArmond has a good relationship with her daughters-in-law and you will see that as your read this book.  If you use the scripture and your relationship with God, then you will be able to improve your relationship with the other woman.

Some of the chapters are “Leaving and Cleaving: What Exactly Does That Mean,” “Women of the Word: Ruth and Naomi,” and Digging Out: How Big Is Your Shovel?”  Each chapter ends with a self-assessment, “Plan of Action,” prayer, and “What Would Ruth and Naomi Do? paragraph.”

My thoughts-

I thought Related by Chance, Family by Choice, by Deb DeArmond was an excellent and pertinent book.

I am blessed with a good relationship with my mother-in-law, but I have heard and read many stories about bad mother-in-law and daughter-in-law relationships.  There are many ways to repair those broken relationships or make good relationships stronger.  It is important to use the Bible to help make the relationships be the best that they can be.

I thought it was great how each chapter ended with the self-assessment, “Plan of Action,” prayer, and “What Would Ruth and Naomi Do?”  It was nice to be able to review the chapter and have a plan for the relationship.

I would highly recommend this book to all mothers-in-law and daughters-in-law.  To help strengthen our country we need to strengthen our relationships.  An improvement in these relationships would be seen by children and husbands and would help their relationships with others, thus helping the country.
