In the past few years there have been floods around the country. We have a little creek near our house, which floods on a yearly basis.
This past spring it flooded, because of an ice jam under the bridge. I am thankful that the houses in our neighborhood are safe when the creek floods, because there is a park and golf course around the creek, which keeps us safe.
